What is NATIONAL YOUTH CAMP “UNDER ONE ROOF”?

National Youth Camp “Under One Roof” provides a platform for students and youth from all over the country to share their experiences as a Malaysian. Well, this is an opportunity for students and youth to know each other and to work out and experience the meaning of “UNDER ONE ROOF”.

The objectives of the camp are as below:

A. To impose a basic understanding of the independence history of Malaysia.

B. To comprehend the notion of unity and how we, children of the nation from different background and religion share the common understanding each other.

C. To provide a platform for students from multiracial and multi religion to exchange view.
D. To broaden the perspective of the student in issues related local and event the international issues.

E. Strengthen solidarity among students mapping out the possible actors in the society by develop a concrete action plan among different students organization in Malaysia in the built up of the democracy, justice and peace in the country.

***Seminar:

“Globalisation and Students Movement”

“Democracy & Freedom: Before & After”

“Another Look at the Nation History: Redefine National Identity”

“University of Tomorrow: Malaysian Students’ Vision”

Prominent speakers:

Rey Asis (Regional Secretary of Asian Students Association) will share his views and ideas on peace and disarmament to provide an understanding on regional security and current international issues.

Hishamuddin Rais (Film director and social activist) talks about the notion of democracy and freedom in the context of Malaysia in order to pave the way for an ideal society.

Saari Sungib (President of Jemaah Islamiah Malaysia) will focus on the history of the independence of Malaysia and the substance of national identity.
