Canadian Film Showcase 2004
The Canadian High Commission and Golden Screen Cinemas Sdn. Bhd. are organizing a Canadian Film Showcase to take place at GSC in Mid Valley Megamall, July 9 - 13. The showcase will feature Les Invasions Barbares (The Barbarian Invasions).
1. Les Invasions Barbares (The Barbarian Invasions) - Written and firected by Denys Arcand, Les Invasions Barberes has won broad international acclaim, including the 2004 Academy Award for Best Foreign Film, the first time a Canadian film has won the award.
Les Invasions Barbares is a gripping and emotionally compelling dramatic comedy in which a man dying of cancer attempts to heal old family wounds and come to grip with his past. The film deftly explores the complex nature of family relationships, the impact that people can have on the lives of those around them and the importance of reconciling our pasts when the end is certain.
