MALAYSIAN FILMS IN ROTTERDAM

Three Malaysian films have been selected for the 33rd International Film Festival of Rotterdam. They are James Lee's DV feature Room to Let (here in its fourth European festival), plus the international premieres of two shorts: Goodbye also by James Lee, and Osman Ali's Finas-funded Malaikat Di Jendela.

IFFR is widely acknowledged as one of the most prestigious festivals in Europe.

This year marks only the second time Malaysia is represented in the 33 years of the festival. The first was in 1999, with Hishamuddin Rais's Dari Jemapoh ke Manchestee.

MALAYSIAN FILMS IN COMPETETION
Jan 22 - Feb 2

Amir Muhammad's Big Durian, Adman Salleh's Paloh and James Lee's Room to Let will be competing in the ASEAN Panaroma category.

A Golden Kinnaree will be awarded to the winner, featuring the best of ASEAN cinema. A selection of films from ten countries – Thailand , Brunei , Cambodia , Philippines , Singapore , Vietnam, Myanmar , Laos , Indonesia and Malaysia.

This award will be judged by members of FIPRESCI (International Association of Film Critics)

TAIWAN INTERNATIONAL CHILDREN'S TV AND FILM FESTIVAL 2004
JAN 13 - 15

There is Treasures Everywhere by Tan Chui Mui is in the special screening -Time Machines segment. The festivals includes various film screeenings, workshops and competetions for shorts narrative, documentary and etc.
